Since 2002 Carlos Barberena is immersed in the world of graphics through free courses in Nicaragua, with artists and Leda Wolfgang Hunecke Watson at the Casa de los Tres Mundos in Granada and in the training workshop and graphic production in Patzcuaro Mexico and came to dominate different graphic techniques such as etching, lithography, dry point, etching Sugar Aquatint and his specialty in Relief Printmaking (Woodcuts and Linocuts).
